I`m still thinking ...

Postby Bobhr on Sat Nov 24, 2007 4:07 pm

I am still thinking of poor Sam ,being run down by his mum!!

Ade have you considered building a bunker in the back garden for the accommodation of the troops?

Maybe a group of Anderson-Shelters or a Nissen hut !?

Ashby Private Event - March 2008

Postby Roman on Sun Nov 25, 2007 9:38 pm

2nd Guards Rifle Division

On behalf of the unit may I thank Ade & Lez for the offer of their house for unit members to stay over night. We are a hardy bunch being the only unit that slept authenticly outside under the stars and on the floor at Mereworth!

I can only hope that the unit can boast a good attendance for this event and that it doesn't fall on the same weekend as Fort Nelson.

GOOD NEWS!

The date for this event is now fixed for MARCH 28th/29th/30th 2008.

John Oxlade is the armourer for the event.

This event is the weekend after Ft. Nelson

Cheers, Ade.

Just to let everyone know that planning for this event is well underway. I have spoken to Paul from "GD" this weekend about the event.

The German forces will be the same two "GD" units that we, 2nd Guards, fought against at the Victory Show. They will be located at the far end of the site. Those of you who did the Ashby battle a couple of years ago will remember we had a good spot last time as our camp. We will be using this again

Each force will have their own car park. These will be sign posted from the entrance like before. So there will be no contact of German and Soviet forces untill we meet in the field. John Oxlade should be located in the Soviet car parking area.

A scenario has yet to be decided, but each CO will be given a selection of sealed orders which will be opened at set times. These will list objectives and possible enemy intel reports. These may be accurate or not.

The event will not be profit making; any surplus cash will be put back into the kitty for the next joint event.

A reminder of the date:

MARCH 28th/29th/30th 2008

Please support this event. It has been a nightmare to plan. (Arn't they all!)

Don't forget this event counts towards your Combat Merit Medal.

Cheers, Ade.

No numbers, as yet Sam.

But if people would like to add their names to the list they can do, either by PM to me or directly in the thread.

Cheers, Ade.

I would always advise booking with John as soon as possible.

Although there should not be a run on ordering Soviet weapons by the Germans. Their group does not like everyone running around with PPSh41's etc.

Cheers, Ade.

Yon need to contact John Oxlade ASAP to get that 'drum machine' before the fascist do! His prices were £65.00 plus 100 blanks.
