Fantastic weekend ,I too am glowing in the dark not only from my sunburn
but from a sense of smugness tha comes from age and experience triumphing over youthful energy.

I refer of course to the Suvorov/Nietsky debate about which was the better section on the day.

All I can say is the stopwatch doesn't lie.

Thanks to Nick and James for their efforts in the race and congratulations to Nick on his promotion.

I'll see you in the NCOs mess at the next event and will welcome you formally on the NCo section of the forum.

Also well done the all the new guys who slotted right in and look forwarcd to meeting you next time.

As Tovarish Grigoriev pointed out though, Nevski were faultless in the arena, where it mattered ;)

Great to see some competitive spirit between the sections, then to see both working together so well during the tactics training. Some good comradely moments.

Can't wait for the next event. I think I have fallen in love with the DP...

What a fantastic show! This one started off as a stop gap last year due to a lack of events in May and has now turned into a favourite with the group. :D

Thanks to everyone who took part: well done guys!

The group had asked for a £75 payment from the organisers to help cover the blank rounds used. When Ray came to get the money they gave us £100 as they were so pleased with our efforts :D

Lez and I are still both red and have sore dried lips, so I think we will be bringing sun screen to all events in future.

Cheers, Ade.

Vodka

Postby Bobhr on Tue May 22, 2007 12:36 am

I must admit I enjoyed the "Know your Vodka" training sessions with Colin.
It enhanced my ability to carry out Rays slow-drill stances.
The salami seemed to go down well, and compliment the various vodkas so i shall bring that each time too from now on.

PS has Lez still got my sons Zippo ( I haven`t told him I left it behind yet!).

Got to say, it made my weekend seeing Andrei's face as he sat in the middle of a line with three bottles going up and time, drinking each time ;)

Well done that man!

Water Carrier

Postby Bobhr on Tue May 22, 2007 1:06 am

Andrei should certainly get an award for all the water-carrying he did.
I don`t think anyone was missed out in the arena as he came round with white cup filled with fresh ,clear , cool water !
Well done mate you were a life-saver to all and made us look very organised .

Stef I am off to try and find one of those white shirts you wear with the amazing shoulders.

Cheers bud, try front of Russia or talk to Rob H who was modeling a very nice variation produced by a lady he knows. I need to find some new longjohns after my 'pant related emergency.' Beautiful split, may repair it with gym fabric.

Next time I'm going to drink more water, why haven't I learned this lesson by now.

I hear that a wedge tan line was a badge of honour amongst RKKA troops, it demonstrated that one hadn't worn a helmet all day. Then again I might just have made that up.

Email from Ian, military secretary for the show:

Hi Ade,

Just a quick note to you and your chaps to thank you once again for your outstanding efforts which were much appreciated by all.

I am not sure at the moment whether I will be running the military section next year, but I hope to attend whatever, so hopefully will see you then if not before, regards to Lez.

Regards
Ian Durrant
