Good evening fellow Comrades ! Let me introduce myself: I am Fyedor Alphonevitch Tyelenov from Belgium and part of the "Tsaritsa poley" Soviet re-enactment club. My real name is Frederik though. I used to do US infantry, but got fed up of seeing yanks, chaps and aussies on events (it's really not a pretty sight in Belgium, believe me, only a few live up to it and do it like it should), so i went and did what i wanted to do, i started portraying a soviet SPW rifleman... I specialise in rifleman, cook and comissar (sometimes) i'm also the repro maker and make sure the language and details are acceptable (i studied a bit of Russian). I hope my English is good enough to understand Tsaritsa poley is a small group, but we do our best, i'll give more details in an other post greetings to al of you Fyedor

Hi Fyedor, my Grandfatehr was called Frederik so I think it is a great name. Its great to hear from you and to see that our interests are alive and well in Belgium too. We have been very lucky in that the guys from Spain came over for Detling and it is turning into an international event. I hope we will meet soon. All the best , Bob.

Hahaha! thank you, mostly its Fred though Yes, well i'm glad to see it too, i was always interested in it but couldn't find a club. Now i'm part of the only club in Belgium who portrays Soviet RKKA Infantry... We get good comments most of the time, but inevitably also the "red terror" remarks Oh well, i hope we could have a great event once, somewhere, with all the soviet clubs

Hi Fred , yes I know what you mean about the Red Terror stuff. My mates used to tease me by asking "where I was invading this weekend ?" So I explained that I was liberating the Motherland, until I got to the German border....then it was debatable whether I was invading or pushing back the facist hordes for the good of the world !! I must say though that from what I have seen you are doing an excellent job and have just the right balance. So many re-enactors award themselves great medals and innapropriate rank and they ruin it; but you seem to have the balance just right. In 2nd Gds we have to earn all the awards we gain ; so we are a true team of dedicated but not ego-driven people. Our Boss and all the NCOs work hard to make what we do accurate and realistic ; and also FUN !! I think we will all get on very well and look forward to meeting you. All the best.

thanks, well i can only say that the situation is the same at our club. Nobody wears any medals, exept for the Lyetenant and The serzheant (lt: best rkka rifleman, sgt: for courage medal) and i rencently earned the best cook badge for my famous Borsht. And as with you comrades our Boss and NCO to their very best (as do we), thats why whe have so much respect for eachother. Which i believe is highly nescessary in a club

Fyedor
From your posts and the pics, it looks like y'all are well on your way to having a great unit. Keep it up, and glad to see more people doing it.
