A late war scenario is planned so the Obr43 uniform should be worn.

Hi Andy, don't forget Neil's tank is a T34/85  They did not get introduced until 1944

Cheers, Ade.

I can confirm that there is enough room under a T34, but why you would want to polish the bottow of my tank with your uniform.

Do you think we could find some 85mm rounds ? The Maxim wont beat that !

We will have our usual living history display in the old forge plus the trench scenario beyond the tunnel and manning the T34!

A rotation system will be in operation.

I have been giving the 'jumping off the T34' verses H&S some thought & I think that it could be done safely, with a bit of practise for those participating. Otherwise we shall have to climb off, and that would look shit.

Right you are, Ted. I'll be sure to get lots of photos, if only for the insurance claim.

We have done this before but some of you haven't so we will practice getting on and jumping off the tank well before the event, your be jumping on gravel.

The T34 will come to a halt then a whistle will signal for the troops to then jump off the tank as previously practised.

A unit member with H&S, first aider and tank jumping experience will be the trainer...................

I like the details regarding getting on and off the tank:
the whistle is clear ,unambiguous and easily heard; and landing on gravel means we have a level and shock-absorbing surface.

Jumping off is simpler than climbing off too !

I have bought a helmet cam (no smutty jokes!) and it records about an hour in fine mode.

I thought we might get some video records this year of the unit doing its thing?

It records onto a 2Gig card.

I took it up on tuesday ,attached to my headset and the colour and frame speed seem fine.Focal distance is from "the guy beside you" to the ground 1000ft below so it would be great for anything we do.

It can be held in the hand or attached to things (or people) so is quite versatile.

A very interesting comparison. The MP 40 is beautifully stable but the PPSch is noticably faster ! I am really impressed by how smooth it is.

I can see whay they designed it with the big hand-guard too !!

I magine the fire-power a platoon with PPSch s could put down ? !

Interesting! Note the PPSh with the stick mag is actually a MP41(R) - the Fascist designation for a captured PPSh, converted to 9mm with a mag well adaptor to allow the use of MP40 magazines - this both fixes the ammunition supply problem and probably more importantly the silohette of the weapon for IFF purposes!

Very rare and an unusual there - wish we would see more fash over here using it like that - one of my friends made the mag well adapters a while back but nobody seemed interested....
