Because he already has your money and he could not care less.

At least he didn't send you the wrong plasch and then refuse to refund or exchange it.

Buying Russian kit is always going to be an adventure for us,all part of the fun.

Don't deal with Trident by email!

Always by phone!

And that enormous website of goodies translates into not many things that are ever in stock....

Good advice from Andy  He messed me around once. He won't be doing it again, as I have a long memory.

Cheers, Ade.

I can vouch for that, I ordered an RD-54 (post-war backpack) a month ago. Apart from a phone call to say that it wasn't in stock, but it will be soon (at three weeks and counting) I havn't heard anything more from them since.

Moisin Spares

Postby Bobhr on Fri Sep 07, 2007 11:49 pm

Just found and bought from a nice site for Mosin Spares and accessories and Mauser accessories.

I bought a Mosin firing pin for $15 , a WW2 type (cigarette tin) Mauser cleaning kit and a WW2 type aluminium oiler.

the site is:
Buymilsurp.com

He is called Mark and is in the USA. If you need to fiind out the postage for an order ,just send him an email then when you buy you choose "collect from store"or "walk in" I think it says ,and he adds the postage himself.
he has all the spares for the Mosin Nagant you could ever need : bands, band retaining clips, screws, triggers,(barrels !) and bolts ,both normal and sniper. He has fore and rear sights and all sorts.
The sniper bolt is $69 which is competitive with others sellers.

His telescopic sights are not the Soviet style though so no joy there , but then he doesnt market the sights as WW2 types ; they are more for modern hunters.

Just to complete the saga on the last post...

I had a probem with the credit card online ordering software generating an error at his end ,and going in circles at mine ; so Mark emailed me to try again.

it didn`t work again, so he telephoned me (which was a pleasant surprise) and we used his in-store card system which worked without a hitch.

He did not do a hard-sell but explained and recommended buying an extractor and spring (rather than the firing pin) for the Mosin Nagant because they fail more often than the pin.
So ,going on the "belt and braces" concept ,I bought all three !

I also bought the cranked bolt part ,for the sniper conversion.
All in all a pleasant experience ith some good advice from him on Mosin Nagants.

He has an ace selection of kit.

Hope you've got a firearms ticket with a MN on it or Customs are going to get all "snappy gloves" on you...

Postby Bobhr on Sat Sep 08, 2007 12:29 pm

If its a Mosin Nagant then yes I have it on my FAC ; together with a Mauser a .22lr and a Hornet; but I haven`t bought the other two yet.

I have a .22 Mauser lined up and am just waiting to collect it. It is a "Hitler Youth" training rifle from WW2.

Thanks for the advice though.

Thank for the warning

Hi , thanks for the information and the warning.

It was mentioned to me (when I had the security arrangements checked during the FAC issue process) that customs monitor incoming weapon-related post; and I can legitimatelly support the order from the US by showing the pre-drilled holes in the rifle ,which were intended for the sight mount (as you know).

I also think the cranked-bolt is a much better design anyhow ,which seems a fair reason to buy one.

I suppose its only to be expected that they keep an eay on who is buying what.

Well that puts a dampener on my ordering of things I guess....

James, I've only just started this year and have had no problems getting hold of kit. I've only had to make one order to the States for a PPS sling and gasmask bag.
Talk to Paul West the QM see what he has available first.
Have a good look around on e-bay both .com and .co.uk. For example:

http://redarmylivinghistory.freeforums. ... .php?t=227

I've bought quite a few bits from e-bay sellers in places like Ukraine and Israel, greatcoat, trousers, padded jacket, gym. Just check everthing with Ade before you buy. Good luck.

I placed an order with Trident in mid September.
I recieved an Email confirming the order with in a day or two, then nothing!

After checking with my bank to see if the money had left my account several times i gave up waiting for my order.

Surprise, surprise, the ordered goods arrived a couple of days ago, good quilty and reasonble postage costs.

I will defenatly use Trident again, only make sure you order in plenty of time.

My 5 cents

"WW2 ORIGINAL Russian military outlander headlight filter set." on the Front - real chicken sheet. This is a modern things. End 60-s and later...
