I trust you will be operating it single handed and firing from the hip using a thin piece of twine as a sling.

I got it from a private seller in North Wales. He bought it from Trident in 1989.
It will be at Kelmarsh :)

Superb hit anyway! I am sure the ignorant public will love to overlook it whilst asking you if you are French or Iraqis or something

Very nice Simon. These are hard to come by.I haven't seen one advertised for a couple of years.Look forward to seeing it at Kelmarsh too.

You will be able to practice with the AA mount on those WW1 biplanes as they float overhead.

They are also of post-war manufacture and as you say the vehicle mounted version. Hence lots of differences and not suitable for WW2.
I believe they also aquired them from a different source.

The last time I spoke to Rytons no SG43's have currently been offered on the tender list. They have more Maxims coming in and another 700 Thompsons which I understand they had to take a part of the wider deal.
Many of these get broken down for spare parts to send to the states. The complete guns cannot be imported.

The pics are excellent. The carriage shown looks very different from the Degtyaryov single arm type. Was there a different post-war carriage?

Yes, definitely a different carriage for the SGM - that manual also shows the post-war tripod for sustained ground role. A similar one was to come along for the PK later on.
