Kelmarsh Hall: English Heritage Festival of History

Postby Adrian on Sun Apr 29, 2007 1:41 pm

This is a prestige, invatation only, multi period event.

This is the sucessor to the late lamented Kirby Hall show. This year will be our third time taking part. In the past two years the weather has not been kind to us, to put it mildly, so this year lets hope for a fine sunny weekend.

Lots of interest was shown in our group by all those who braved the wind and rain and a walk up the hill. We had quite a few genuine Russian visitors to this one who were very pleased to see the Red Army represented.

As usual the beer tent in the evening was fun, with the now ritual of swopping hats with members of other groups from different time periods.

Cheers, Ade.

yeh I loved this event it's not too big and not too small, so you get just enough attention without being rushed all day and we had the march at the end which was good.

Missed last years' due to cash flow problems. Hope I can make this one as it's a nice prelude to the big one at Detling. Even if you don't cop off it's still a nice show.

Ahem - sorry guys!

But apart from that, it would be great to get a bigger turn-out at Kelmarsh this year. The MoP's that go to this gig are really good and generally ask intelligent questions about the kit, weapons and the GPW.

Makes a refreshing change from the usual 'Who are you supposed to be?'
