Looking for a M35 gymnastyorka

Postby Sergei Ginzburg on Wed Aug 22, 2007 8:50 am

Hello
I'm looking for a cotton M 35 gymastiorka. I have one in wool, from "Front of Russia" (I know that some comrades have had problems with they, but ,in my case, all was ever OK). Is Trident the best option? Who is "Bair"? (i've read this name in a message). Someone sells anyone, in 42 size?

By the way. which is the official impression in 2nd Guards? M35 or M 43 impression?

Regards
Sergei

Hola Serge, Front of Russia make a very good Summer M35 gymnastirka. The Trident one is OK, but over priced for what you get.
Bair is Bair Irincheev, our Comrade is Helsinki and St. Petersburg, who has a contact who makes repro Soviet uniform. He is also a member of this forum.

We tend to use the Tsarist M43 far more than the Peoples' M35 though. Sadly.

I have the Ostfront M43 uniform, past winter batch. I don't like very much the new Front of Russia M 35 cotton gymnastiorka, because their pleated breast puches, but the price is very reasonable.
I send you two photos, showing my M43 (cotton) and M35 (wool)gymnastiorkas . Defaults: in m43 impression, the belt is too low. In M35, Commissar stars are too high in sleeves. Both defaults are now corrected.
