Who where these guys where thay like american carrier based pilots did thay operate during the war or are thay after the war

The VMF never has had any carriers, but the Morskaya Aviatsiya operated in the Barents, Baltic and Black Seas and also with the Soviet Naval Detachment in the Sea of Okhotsk.

They had catapult based aircraft, torpedo bombers, naval bombers, and flying boats such as the MBR-2 and Lend-Lease Catalinas.

There is also a photo of the very rare Morskaya Aviatsiya bomb carrying reindeer.

Pressed into service in 1942 they made several heroic attacks against fascist cruisers in the Baltic:
