for starters the post war pea coats are cut diferently from the war time ones - i believe post war coats buttons taper inwards from top to bottom - so the buttons at the bottom are closer to each other than at the top, war time ones - the buttons run straight from top to bottom.... correct me if i'm wrong - otherwise just praise me

Are they just black Soviet/Russian/Ukrainian black naval trousers?
If so, just go buy another set, they are cheap as chips off of t'bay

Actually that is more general naval tradition than Russian - certainly Royal Navy trousers were (perhaps still are) the same cut and I expect all the other navies the same.
Curious things though!
I have a 80's Red Fleet uniform and also a 70's/80's Naval Infantry black service dress/combat uniform - the perhaps bizarre thing is the Naval Infantry one still has the weird side buttoning trousers.
Do like the black Naval Infantry uniform though - one of my favourite uniforms I own - looks damned cool!

Fraser has/had a pair of US Navy bellbottoms with a Soviet stores stamp on them in his collection, so perhaps they were supplied on lend-lease.
