I'm pleased that you all like KELMARSH because it's a much better event for re-enactors plus we get paid !

Some of the events dates are similar to this years but until the organiser confirm the exact dates then we will have to wait until they do. I am updating the web site regularly so keep checking.

If there are any quiet periods ahead, I don't mind trying to put together an event at the above fort. It's a great venue and my Fash unit has the run of it some weekends. Would be great to get together with them and re-enact siege of Brest or Konigsberg forts.
We'd even be allowed to make bangs and would have nice brick fort buildings to sleep/eat in!

Ray-the websites looking really good, lots of nice pictures and ofcourse lots of nice pictures is half the battle won!
as for forts as previously mentioned - has anyone heard of fort paul outside hull?
i paid it a visit not too long ago and to be honest it has a lot of potential...
unfortunatly it is privately owned and so is a little "run down", not to say the actual fort - but a lot of the stuff inside. to cut a long story short it's a napoleonic/victorian hexagonal fort on the bank of the river humber to the east of hull. some the ww2 guns and all the concrete gun positions are intact and the underground tunnels and magazines are open to the public. the fort has been around since henry VIII and but most of whats visible was built in the 1860's.
i left with mixed impresions - it was a nice surprise finding it, and finding out it hosts a number of re-enactments a year (including ww2 germans)and is the home of one of the napoleonic artillery groups was surprising.
however i was quite dissapointed in the general condition of the displays (which was poor-merely due to neglect) and the military vehicles and army transport plane which were also in a poor state - but work appears to be going on - so things may get better. the actual fort itself is fab.
but what i'm really getting at is would anyone be interested in doing an event here? even if it's a small "test" event early in the season?

this link should work...

Visited a few years back for an ECW event..........Still have nightmares about some of the freaky exhibits they have there
Do they still have the big painting of Waterloo? Complete with Sharpe wielding his heavy cavalry sword

Re: Mereworth Private Event - 10/11th November 2007
The Unit needs your support for this event and we need the numbers to overwhelm the fascists. I have a spare K98 for use but it's first to contact me who will have a free K98 for the weekend.
This private battle will count towards your Combat Mertit Award.
Let Adrian know if you will be suporting your unit.
