Thanks for the info Martin.
Had to ask about the adrien being the uniform tart I am ,should be fun being french resistence, not sure Ive the legs for the little white bobby socs though
k,
ps,Andy, all sorts of pre war/ may1940 kit seems to feature in photos of the maquisards once they were out and fighting,as the Polish eagled Adrien would date from the 1940 campaign it is concievable that it could have been worn...and the crowd are mostly accross two wide railway lines....now,if i combine my yank 41 kit with the french, keep my beard i could go ear hunting...

well it's not got a chin strap on it so it would probably just bounce off and knock one of my poor comrades out so i think i will leave it at home.
Cheers Andy

well, just got in after a four hour drive back from this little event .
good show , and well done to all who took part , and to all who did the two displays each day.
a very strange weekend , i have for some reason a lot of blank spaces in my memory , i think this was caused by the large amount of vodka which was drunk on the saturday evening
i do have some memory of a lot of shouting , drinking by command 1,2,3 drink , some fash running away to escape the vodka , walter being very drunk ............ and a drunk phone call to the boss ....... to all who were insulted , offended , shocked by my actions ........... sorry
if i had hair , it would have been very very let down this weekend
i will not get like that again .
to tank , i hope things get better .
to bob , sorry for telling you to go forth and multiply.
to martin , you use that look of dissaproval to devistating effect .
apart from all that , a nice weekend .

Phew , home too and bathed !
Thanks for the mention Colin and it was good you see you and Walter so relaxed .A mate of mine described it once as "easing springs".
I did my very best to drink in time to the 1,2,3 drinking-drills commands and I hope I didn`t dissappoint you.
Thanks too to Martin for the loan of the P-38; and of course to the fine woman in the grey shorts (on whom we tested all available optics) for bringing her legs !
I had a great time and am sorry I had to trot off before lunch and the second battle. Brum told me that it cost him about £80 quid to get to Peak Rail ! So the lift to Derby was the least I could do to help.
On the subject of clothing :Andy (big Andy) certainly sold me the concept of combat Pixies ,with the budenovka , and I learnt a lot about what is needed to look like a Partizan
(I am buying a blue dress and cute white sox next week!).
The footwraps were a complete sucess and having worn them without socks all weekend (and driven there and back with them on) I have happy feet and no blisters.
Glad the strawberry vodka was enjoyed and thenks for the compliments.
I have cherry for next week and will buy a vanilla pod to try out big Andys idea.
All the best to all.

not long got back, kai your fab, thanks for the lift!
this event was just brilliant and i fired a ppsh and shot at germans with a ppsh .
and just a general thank you to everyone for your efforts especialy lez's cooking and just a big thanks for everyones support and concern during my emotional breakdown i am very greatfull!- it was just a lot of bottled up stress finaly being released and i fired a ppsh -that went BANG
and remember-thick pink wooly sock don't go with soviet uniform-as i found out-whilst preparing myself to fire a ppsh which i eventually did fire said ppsh

Just spent a very long time in a very nice bath, after an excellent weekend. Thanks to all who made it so.I've said this before I know, but of all the groups I've been in,and I've been in a few, the 2nd Guards is by far the best,so once again thank you all from the heart of my bottom, oops vodka residue kicking in time for bo's bo's.Oh! do I get an award for having my guards badge awarded twice. Next stop Kelmarsh.

I have had this tune going round in my head ......and it reminded me....it came from the sight of Andy singing a lullaby to a blissfully sleeping Walter...well done Andy ... that was really impressive the way you sang it all in Russian.
On another note..."Tank" , it was good that you got all that out of your system and it also shows how close a team we truly are.
Everyone was rooting for you.

I think it would be wise for us if ,when you put on one of those suits ,and thus dressed in the best cam known to man, and its dark ; we put one of those Cyalume tubes in your belt so we can find you again !!
How I could lose somebody so special and so large for so long Tank I will never know.
It shows how easy it must have been to be seperated from your unit in a war where there were no lights and no sound !
In future don`t be offended if we sit several people on either side of you or tie a string to your belt!
Is there a survival behind enemy lines badge ? I can see it all now.....you must have gone behind the Fash lines to do a recce for the mornings attack ; in true Razvedchik style.
Suffering from the earlier bombardment you were in shock and became disorientated.
But stealthily ,and steadily, without giving yourself away to the hordes of nearby Fash ,you worked your way undetected back to friendly lines and debriefed your commander?
There... that sounds a whole lot more like you doesn`t it?
Urrahh !!

I can see it now.
comrade "tank" succesfully evaded capture by enemy patrols by lying in a ditch and pretending to be a small grassy knoll
Thanks to his actions his comrades in the 2nd guards were able to reach such a state of combat readiness that they were able to chase the faschists form there camp with only a bottle of vladivar and a cheeky grin.
I hereby recommend comrade Craig "tank" Palfrey for the order of Vodkat 1st class

if the fash dont notice a tank passing through their lines, they dont deserve to win the war
( not that they will anyway )
