This year I will be mostly wearing mildew.........i may be breaking the geneva convention on bio warfare
S**t, forgot to check my travel trunk...oops, a very wet telog was lining the bottom for a fortnight and strange green fur had grown on my nagant pouches :? but oddly enough all brass bits have never looked better :D
By some fluke all im left with is partizan kit, bits of rkka and bits of civi :P

Hi Andy, we will have the usual camp but Nick and I are planning a partizan dugout taken from the Partizan manual  We have got a few other ideas from this; all Ray Mears type stuff that Huw will love.

Cheers, Ade.

More about the dugout or "Zemlyanka" can be found here:

http://www.jewishpartisans.org/t_switch ... +zemlyanka

There is lots of info here about them.

I will ask the railwaymen to rough it out using their JCB. If anyone can bring some pallet type timber this would be great.

Cheers, Ade.

Hi Leon, Peak Rail is August 4th/5th. You should have it on the pass I sent; this will be with you any day

Partizan kit: that would be OK but a cap would be nice too. Huw has been making these. Drop him a line.

Cheers, Ade.

Yup,Leon a white shirt and bandolier look hunky but they make a
really good aiming mark !
Your mates would hate you for attracting fire on them as well !
Maybe camouflage is more appropriate?
Just watch out for lawn-mowers or grazing cows !!

Hi Craig, no, the nearest station is Matlock, about 3 to 4 miles from South Rowsley station where we will be situated.

A bus runs fom Matlock and you can get off at South Rowsley BUT tell the driver that you need to get off there. There is an Indian restaurant just before where you need to get off, on the left side of the road, called the "Shangri-la" I think. The station is then a short walk from the main road. It should be sign posted with a banner advertising the weekends event.

Cheers, Ade.

Just to reiterate again about uniforms.

Our display is a Partizan encampment with Red Army advisors. Either period civvy dress or camo suits/RKKA Obr43 uniform

The skirmish is Partizan dress only.

Cheers, Ade.

Just in reply to a couple of things. Firstly the hireing of soviet weapons for the battle is fine. I know it's technically wrong, but I'm sure everyone would like to certainly familiarise themselves with soviet weponary. It's a bit of a compramise. Over the last years we've been tagged on to what has really been a western front battle, and I for one certainly feel out of place. With the partisan thing its going to be easier to write us into a scenario that is a bit more accurate than usual. As for guards badges, I'm afraid not. sorry guys!

re weapons Martin,I was thinking about where most of the public are during the battles and at that distance im sure a Nagant wont exactly stand out like a sore thumb will it :)
Were there not Guards Partizan units then Martin? Would Guards who found themselves in Partizan units for one reason or another not be allowed to wear the badge? not to make a fuss mind, Im easy :)
kai,
ps,is it definatly "French" resistence we're portraying for the blat? A couple of us must have Adrien helmets knocking about we could bring if it is.

There is one battle/day. Just the western front battle. As I said however if you've hired soviet weapons please feel free to use them. Most people have and I think it would be a good idea for members to get used to using them.
Kai if you want to bring your adrian helmet please feel free to do so.
As guards status was introduced in 1942, you would have not got any pockets of troops cut off like in 1941 forming partisan units. However if you want to wear a prewar badge in it's place I'm sure no one will mind.
