Just a quick AAR on the Duncannon event - fantastic fun spoiled a bit by Belvoir Castle '06-like downpour. What a great venue for an event - a mid-18th century coastal fort, with our own quarters and with inexpensive food laid on close at hand. Extremely reenacter-friendly pub just down the road, with flexible, negotiable opening hours. The reenacters covered all periods of history, but special strength in WW2, Napoleonic and Roman. WW2 lads especially good, look forward to seeing some of you at Detling this year!
Low points - the weather, blowy one day, rainy the next, at least we didn't get both together, and the four Russian chavs who were hassling us on Sunday morning (later, I understand, arrested by the Guards.
High points - great people even in bad conditions, lots of public ditto, good food and drink, enthusiastic reenacters and a standing invitation to come next year. Lets see a few more 2nd Guards then!
As Dustin the Turkey says, The Craic was good!
