We need ideas for the public battle scenario for Military Odyssey as our Comrade Starshiy Serzhant will concentrate on the private battle scenarios from now on.

What I require is ideas and a scenario for our public battle against the 2nd Battle Group for the Military Odyssey Eastern Front battle. We may be limited as the SBG wear 1944/45 uniforms though I imagine that the general public don't know what the German or Russian forces were wearing throughout world war 2!

Post your ideas on this thread, but please research your history as we need to be authentic as possible. The senior NCO's and myself will co-ordanating the battle.
Remember that 1943 - 1945 were our victory years!!

Don't forget me, I rode since a young girl, had my own horses and taught my son and daughter to ride. Not riden since my expendition to Africa about 2004, so I'll be a bit rusty! It would be good if I could ride again cossack fashion like I did in my younger days, totally mental!

We nearly always have the cavalry at Detling!, and what ever, keep in mind I can ride a darn horse and I'll have a go on a camel, llama, great dane or anything else that won't buckle under my weight! Never mind my threads, PC been playing up again, a problem with A.I. getting out of hand again, it'll be sudden death from a great height out the bedroom window; my PC, not me

I will keep you horse riding skills in mind comrade Hujsova. As for you computer, it sounds like the Germans defending Berlin, alost cause!
Do you have any ideas for a scenario for the Detling battle?

Koeniggsberg. No prisoners. No questions asked.

It would be good to end the year with the Division's glorious Slaughter at Koeniggsberg :D

Needs to be late war doesn't it if we are to have all the lend lease vehicles and T34 85 as usual.

I hope to have jeep there again.

As our Starshina mentioned earlier, I have been working on the Detling Ost Front battle scenario.

The finer parts of the scenario need to be typed but I have the 'bones' of the battle written.
First I would like to explain what the aims of this scenario is:

1. The whole scenario is aimed at giving the members of the public (MOP) a better view of the battle. Troops and vehicles will be
nearer and better positioned;
2. The action is continuous, thus making it action packed;
3. 2nd Guards members will be trained in Red Army battle tactics at every event so will be better equipped for this scenario;
4. Scouts, Partisans, radio operator, Medics, Red Army Infantry, Maxim & crew, T34 and tank riders, Red Army cavalry, Gaz jeeps, lorries, German soft skin
vehicles, German SS Infantry, German armour and the Yak, are all part of this scenario.
5. The battle scenario will be available on our web site. A link on the home page will be created so that everyone including the Second
Battle Group who will be able to access it, so the information is available to download.

The Scenario
We are part of Operation Bagration, Zhukov's operation to liberate Belorussia (Belarus) 1943 and the Summer of 1944 and destroy German Army Group Centre. The scenario is set near the Ukraine and Polish border near a town called Pinsk. The scouts are on a forward scouting mission before the Company advance.

1. Germans on the field with a motor pool, repairing vehicles;
2. German sentries on outskirts of field;
3. Scouts take out first sentry but second one spots the Red Army scout, his rifle jams so he decides to run;
4. Scout takes German sentry out once he gets to the vehicles;
5. German mechanics open fire;
6. Scouts exposed in the open;
7. Red Army cavalry out flank the Germans and take them out from the rear;
8. Scouts occupy German position;
9. Gaz jeep with officer arrives at captured German vehicles and directs the cavalry to scout the next village;
10. Cavalry return very quickly with news that German armour is on its way, Gaz jeep returns to the unit;
11. Scout with radio contacts the regiment for support and then they retreat behind cover;
12. Germans advance to the motor pool and at the same time as the T34 and troops appear on the scene;
13. T34/tankriders and Infantry advance towards the Germans recaptured positions;
14. Germans move forward in position;
15. German anti-tank team move into position using the German motor pool vehicles as cover;
16. T34 takes out some German armour while Red Army Infantry advance;
17. Anti tank team takeout T34;
18. Battle ensues;
19. Radio man makes contact for further support;
20. Yak fighter arrives and takes out German armour;
21. Red Army troop advance using battle tactics with maxim MG in support;
22. German resistance weakens and they start retreating;
23. Red Army troops advance as the Germans leave the battlefield, leaving their dead and wounded;
24. Victory belongs to the Red Army.

There is more to add but I would be interested in any suggestions and your comments.

We will need a very big effort from everyone in supporting this event, so we need as many unit members to committ themselves to attending Detling 2010.
