Ordered a few bits and pieces which, plus western union fee came to about £65. Got an email on the 4th May saying the order had been posted.

7th August and I'm assuming it won't be arriving at all. I contacted him and as it's not his policy to resend the order I can only accept that I've lost my money

So folks, just be careful when ordering from this vendor. I wasn't able to recommend him to the other guys in our group so he's lost out. I'll be sticking with Trident, Ostfront and of course Bair's lads from now on.

Hi Andrei
you've been lucky.

I'm in a situation where I paid my money and got nothing in return. Now the guy won't even return my emails.

Where I come from if you pay for something and get nothing in return it's called theft.

Well folks he finally got back to me.

Now I'm being accused of receiving the items and complaining in order to get double the amount of items for the one payment. I pointed out that I have proof that he got my money whereas I have no proof that he ever posted me anything.

For those who trust this guy I wish you well. I'm totally pissed off with this shit  and the fact that I have NO comback whatsoever is really frustrating.

Hi Andy
It was all small bits and pieces. Flag pole finial, puttees, nagant bandolier, entrencing tool, buttons. Don't know if it would be of any real value to anyone outside of a re-enactor.

What annoys me is that I was asked by the Western Union people if I trusted the vendor as I would have no comeback if the goods didn't arrive. Based on the feedback from others I said yes.

Hi Hugh, sorry to hear that your parcel has gone adrift. I have dealt with Alexei and was happy with the service.

I too suspect the item has been lost or stolen in transit. Pity it was not insured. Buying from overseas is always a bit of a worry.

Cheers, Ade.

I've only had good experiences of trading with Alexei, but i know that others have had problems, mainly of supply. However, the Ukrainian postal system is truly crap, so I think that may be where your order has disappeared to.

Comrade My unit has ordered much equipment from this dealer with only good results and excellent kit, perhaps send another email of your concerns, we have also returned items before if not happy and received replacements at no cost.

I hope that it turns out for the best!

He won't give me back my money and he won't resend my order. As far as he's concerned I sent him the money, he sent me the goods and that's all there is to it.

Is there anyone I can complain to? Does the Ukraine have a consumers council or equivalent. It's so bloody annoying to be treated this way.

Ukraine, a country teetering on the verge of civil war for the past few years may have a consumer council but I doubt very much whether they could be bothered to get involved for a months wages........
Just keep up polite communications with Alex, from what I hear he isnt one of the "dodgy" ones.
All the best and maybe just do what I do,steer away from internet shopping full stop :)

Bit too late for polite communications at this stage.

All I can do is accept that I have been cheated and ask you all to maybe think twice before ordering from this man again.

Well, this does make me a bit worried, since I'm currently waiting for about £150 worth of stuff that I ordered from Alexei a couple of weeks ago. It's my first order from Front of Russia, too....

The only sharp thing I have seen Alexi pull is sending something and then when you get it its not as described (eg Ukrainian cammo not Soviet or officers boots not soldiers) and then shrugging and walking away.

He sent a pair of trousers far too small for one of my Comrades and when put on the spot suggested he sent a piece of material for my Comrade to make an alteration with :?

The biggest problem I've had with Front of Rusia is the Western Union comission charges.
however Alexei usually adds a few freebies, pogoni, cigarettes, pilotkas etc in with your order to make up for it.

With the last order I placed I asked him not to send cigs (I don't smoke) but to send newspapers or magazines instead as I wanted to practice reading Russian.

He sent me some papers and a very noice collection of posters of wartime unit flags, which were great as a reference for my wargaming GPW.

I'm sorry for your bad experience Hugh and probably next time I order anything I will keep it a small order just in case.

Good experiences with Richard ,and mediocre with Trident.

Postby Bobhr on Thu Sep 06, 2007 9:01 pm

A few days ago I ordered a brand new leather sling for a K98 ,from Richard Underwood and it arrived today.
The smell of new leather escaped and assailed my senses when I opened the bag ,and the sling itself is beautifully made.

I am very very pleased, and thanks Richard for a lovely item to compliment my Mauser.

On a different tack, about two weeks before Kellmarsh.: I made an online order with Trident Militaria ,for a standard ,tan Plash palatka, using my VISA

I heard and received nothing  then about twoo weeks after Kellmarsh I sent an email.
Then a week later another.

Yesterday I received an email saying they were expecting a shipment at any time (and they only had the modern metal-eyelet ones in stock at present until it arrived ),but he would keep me posted.

Why couldn`t he answer the first email!!?
