Hello comrades!

Postby SSgrinder on Sun Nov 25, 2007 8:22 pm

Hello comrades, I'm Alastair Lamb- Crawley living in Purley, South London, I've recently joined the 2nd Guards Rifle Division 8) I decided to join the unit for a number of reasons, I've decided to add reenacting to my list of hobbies, I want to meet new people with similar interests to me (my main interest as you've probably guessed is the Eastern front of WW2, particually Operation Barbarossa), and lastly there is no better unit to join when you want to have a crack at those Nazi f***s. I probably won't be able to attend a lot of events, but I'll do my very best. Hope to see you all at Mereworth in February. :D

We don't have an event at Mereworth though.

Cheers, Ade.

Priviet Tovaritch! Welcome to the glorious 2nd Guards! I additionally reccomend with unbiased socialist zeal, that you request to be posted to Red Banner section, which is the most the Heroic and and hard fighting in the 2nd Guards! Hurraaaa! Hurraaaa!

Other sections are available on request. :?

Other Soviet reenactment groups are also available on request.

But seriously- we all get on very well and excellent levels of Socialist cooperation are being established accross all groups and platoon sections.

Hi Alastair, at our events the group is split into 2 or 3 rifle sections, depending on number turnout, plus a HQ section, which Andy refered to as the "camp section".

Each rifle section has it's own name, based upon the unit awards given to 2nd Guards in the war.

We have Nevski, Surorov and Red Banner.

You will be placed in one of these under mine and Ray's orders. As you might gather from his blatant attempt to recruit you, Nick leads "Red Banner"

These sections are not "written in stone", other than the sections leaders who command them. This is due to the flutuating nature of different members attending different shows at different times. I would dearly love to have them in the same format each time, this would make training easier and build good section "espirt de corps".

I try to make each section a balance of experienced members and novices. This allows new members to learn from their section commanders and comrades.

Cheers, Ade.

Us? Cheat?

Postby Comrade Coffin on Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:06 pm

We were not cheating Comrade; it was just a case of us wise old NCOs using our hard earned wisdom (and our superior Soviet waste belts) to tow the Maxim more quickly.
