If you have been through all the battles over the years for the glorious Red Army, slept rough, gone hungry and wet while we try to achieve victory then this needs to recognised.
Those who haven't experienced the above will have to earn it!

what about those spanish exiles who had to fight franco with only 20 hours siesta, 3 bottles of wine and all the chorizo he can carry as well as all the sunshine and beuatiful scenery then go to russia to join the red army and take up the cause cold wet and hungry...surely there should be a medal for that?

Medals are earned by hard work, determination and attentance with the 2nd Guards. How they are earned with any other unit is all but a guess!
