What was the "reputable Western edition"?
Most of the media in the west is full of rubbish written by people who don't know what the they're talking about. They sensationalise stories and make them more controversial to attract attention.

Trouble is Michael is like my Comrades say that very few ever bother to even have the idea that not everyone is the same across the world.
Half the trouble in the world today is cause by self righteous fools who believe that their "way of life" is the only "way of life" which is honest, decent and fair and that everybody else must be living in misery and oppression.
Yes there are/were genuinely evil societies (Nazi Germany for example, although I will say it probably only was elements of it which made it so although those elements were just enough cause for burning it to the ground!) but by and large the rest are just "different" or incomprehensible to anyone who cares not to try to learn about them.
And in the modern Western world why would anyone bother trying to learn? Its all rush, rush, rush, spend, spend, spend, work, work, work with no time for anything except "bites" of news. How can you understand a different culture when it has to be fed to you in a 30 second news clip?
You will find the users on this forum very different to the majority...
