Just for the record the interrogation was quite hard work for Trude and me.
It can be embarassing to stand up in public and use a language in which you are comfartable but not grammatically fluent;knowing that there may be a genuinely fluent German-speaker nearby.
Interrogation is a specialised subject and not easy to mimic either (in any language).
Coupled with that it needs its own special vocabulary of words which are not easay to obtain.
It wa shte first time that Trude and I had done it and it would have needed a lot of practice and experience (like any acting job does) to make it convincing.
We would have needed to rehearse wiith the prisoner and arrange some tokenn violence perhaps.
We wree gentle but it is well nigh impossibel to rant and rave in a foreign language unless you are current and experienced in using it that way.
I wasn`t and nor was Trude ; but she had a domn good try and that was the important thing.
We need to research to do it properly and convincingly.

Sensibilities

Postby Welsh Comrade on Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:42 pm

Hi there

The toruble is, there are lots of types of interrogation.

And you can't really do it the 'quick and dirty' way - involving much suffering and terror. Realistic portrayal of this doesn't go down well with the punters......

Fash bashing

Postby Welsh Comrade on Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:45 pm

Will you need a cook? I think my Fash-bashing days are passing thanks to an 'iffy' left knee. I don't mind staffing HQ, cooking, driving etc but atletic leaping through woods would be stretching things (literally). I think I also might have a trailer by then.

Mark I have offered to be the cook aswell. I was planning on making the same meals we have whilst on regular camp i.e. breakfast lunch and tea so with two cooks i'm sure we can pull this off

Postby Welsh Comrade on Mon Sep 24, 2007 1:37 pm

That sounds good to me. You're on. :D We can double up as NKVD types in between meals and work up an appetite by working over some Fash.

Comrade Grigoriev

I've not been told the battle is on but I hope so.

AWOL

Postby Welsh Comrade on Tue Sep 25, 2007 9:45 pm

Hello Comrade Grigoriev

Thank you for your kind and fraternal words. :)

This year was intensely frustrating for me and I missed 2nd Guards a lot. I have stayed in touch with Ade and Rob Hymer and sent in a few things for KZ - that could be done without physically attending events. I hope to be more visible from now on.

On behalf of the unit I would like to say that we have missed our Welsh comrade and hope that you will be with your comrades and friends in the 2008 events! Feel the pressure?

Feeling the Pressure

Postby Welsh Comrade on Thu Sep 27, 2007 10:31 pm

Hello Comrade Kapitan.....

Thank you for your kind words. I should be used to pressure (we in the Vanguard of the Party seldom sleep...... ).

By the way, does anyone know why I'm shown as a Yefreytor (Corporal) on this site when in fact I'm a Krasnoarmyets (Private )?? (Look above the flag....the shoulder boards are wrong!).

Well comrade you were awarded the rank of Sani Instructor for a reason and that's the rank you are entitled to wear.

Hamming it up

Postby Welsh Comrade on Sat Sep 29, 2007 10:19 am

Hello COmarde 'serzhant' Andrei

Congratulations on the 'forum rank' - a bit like local , temporary ranks in the Birtish Army. Can I have a medal for 'most hammed-up mock accent used wth punters'?
