Private battle proposal

Postby Adrian on Thu Jun 21, 2007 9:17 pm

Hi Guys, I have been in contact with Andy Colbourn C/O of Second Battle Group. He would like to propose an Eastern front private battle to take place in October or November of this year.

This would involve SBG only and 2nd Guards (plus other Soviet comrades in arms as guests).

Possible venues could be the East of England Tank museum or a site in Reading.

As SGB can always field a good turnout, we would need to do the same.

Cheers, Ade.

Hi Lee, glad to hear that your guys will be able to suport the event. As I mentioned earlier, no exact dates have been set.

I might learn more in the next few days. If I do, I will post the info here.

cheers, Ade.

Sounds ace; I enjoyed my first experience of the SBG (at East of England Tank Museum) and would be happy to join in anything else which is planned. :P

Idon't know what Lee's doing saying he can manage in October as we have a battle in Pippingford then.

It would need to be November for us!

Also, please can I put in a vote for Reading over East of England. Norfolk seemed to be a bit remote for many other comrades and it was certainly the journey from hell for us!

Reading is a bit more central.

i speak on behalf of the collective- opportunities to fight the faschists must be taken at all costs- the battle at pip is the first weekend in october like you say November would be better- we will have to see!

Comrade Pavel,
if you would like to avoid journey from hell , if this is necessary, then perhaps you could do what Nick and I do and drive to Devizes, then I will drive the remainder of trip to and from Narfolk.
I have also trailer for kit. She is like skippy but more robust and from a previous plan when angle-iron and plywood was plentiful.
It is just suggestion for you to consider if it helps.

Red November?

Postby Comrade Coffin on Sun Jun 24, 2007 6:27 pm

I would very much like to do this one, and could I vote for November and Reading, as we have the shooting comp at the begining of October (13th/14th). Also, Novemver should be colder, & us 2nd Guards love fighting in the cold. Reading is slightly more central for everyone to get to as well.

Sounds great! November near Reading would be good, but we must be prepared anytime, anywhere and with any weapon to beat back the Fascist hourdes.
