the lucky people who have actually seen the film the golden compass (yeah i know its a kids film) the guards who look rather slavic (and are portrayed as evil btw) are actually armed with mosin nagants! still wiches, small children and polar bears are no match for this mighty weapon! any thoughts anyone?

Moscow Centre can send Military Assistance, and Advisers to Fraternal Dimensions, but if they lack the Political Perception to deploy them as per the norms supplied to them they will fail, Infiltration, isolation and suppression of the Bandit "Dirty Men", Militaristic Ice Bears, and Reactionary Witches should have been undertaken before locating a Sedative Facility such as they did in the North.
The Defensive Capabilities were well below the advised strength of Three Rifle Brigades, one Tank Brigade and a reinforced Artillery Company, plus supporting Arms to suit in a Prepared In Depth Defensive Positions, with Two Rifle Companies of NKVD for Rear Security, these elements were offered by Moscow Centre but, their Leadership turned it down,,, the matter and the leadership of their" Progressive" Government system is under review and investigation.
A Division of VDV with Transportation supported by Three Fighter Regiments, Two Ground Attack Regiments and a Bomber Regiment is on Six Hour Readiness awaiting Moscow Centre's findings.
The next film should be more Progressive in out look.....

Indeed despite the advice given by the in country advisors, they failed to see the central importance of Marxist-Leninism, for it is this alone that guarantees victory in all conflicts.
The GRU report to Moscow Centre regarding this failiure concludes that "lack of political perspective" was the root cause of the client state's failiure to repell Imperialist Aggression and that the same equipment in class concious Soviet soldiers hands would have been at least 150% effective in the same struggle.
